     So, You Think Organic Food Is Actually More Desirable For Your Health?

      Organic food is certainly nothing new and has been around for generations, however recently more people have been taking an interest in it and the word organic has turned into a big buzz word. Those involved in the health food industry are generating massive profits during this hype as organic food costs more then the non-organic foods found in the shop. Keeping all this in mind, the question should be asked; is organic food hugely beneficial or perhaps even necessary for our bodies? Due to the fact its likely to be costing more, is it emphatically better for us?

      To find out all the facts, lets take an initial look at what the expression "organic" truly means to us. The name organic represents something that has not been chemically modified or had chemicals used in its production.

      Organic food carries no added toxins, for example fertilizers and insecticides, which can be detrimental to your health. By not posessing these cancer causing elements the food is better for your health. Even though it is a personal choice, many people state that they appreciate the taste of organic food and that it is a major reason why they are happy to spend the extra money on it.

      Only using organic food will in addition have a beneficial impact on our environment. Pesticides and insecticides have been established to have a substantial effect on the global ecosystem and as organic food includes neither of these its better for the ecosystem.

      Pollution is contributing to the important issue of global warming, however organic farming keeps pollution to a minimum which is fantastic news. It is also important to observe that when farm animals are fed on organic food they are also usually treated well so that they will also produce well. Unlike the small cages and the force feeding methods seen on many other farms, organically fed animals tend to be "free range" and are allowed to walk around in open areas.

      And so organic foods are great for the environment, your health and also helps to ensure that the animals on the farms are treated well and not mistreated. As with anything thats good there are downsides, with organic food its the price tag, so its up to you to ascertain whether or not youll benefit from paying more for organic food.
