Skin tags are inoffensive skin blemishes that do not cause any pain, and they can barely be seen. Anyway, if the skin tag is positioned in a highly sensitive area, it might be sore, thus you will want to get rid of it. Anyhow, there are skin tags that look horrible too, and in these cases they will need to be removed by any means; the safest option is skin tag removal at home.

For instance, you could set a meeting with your doctor, and request his to suggest you a treatment, but most probably this will be rather costly, especially if you present more than one tag. Yet, there are available many skin tag removal treatments that you can follow at home, without spending all your money on expensive products.

However, before removing it you have to make sure that it is indeed a skin tag, as they can sometimes be confused with skin flaps. Skin tags grow really slow and are never larger than 0.5 inch. They are usually cause by hormonal changes, or weight fluctuations, and can be seen on the chest, neck, or even on the armpits. In case you're not sure if it's a skin tag, you shouldn't remove it unless a doctor gives you permission. You should also be tested for diabetes, as research has shown that skin tags can also appear on people that have type 2 diabetes.

If you suffer from such a disease, you will need to treat it first, and then take care of your tags. The most non-invasive methods for removing skin tags consist in using a cotton ball soaked in Apple Cider Vinegar which is placed on the skin tag, applying heated compresses on the growth, or combining both methods.

It might be as efficient to apply a round potato slice on the tag, smashed garlic, or an aspirin. Still these treatments are successful, only if they are applied for several weeks. And, if you want to notice the difference faster, here is what you need to do.

If you are brave enough, you can simply tie the tag with dental floss, around its base, and then simply clip if off the skin, using a pair of scissor, or a nail clipper. Before doing this, you will have to make sure that you use only clean and sterilized instruments, and then disinfect the tag, and the wound, as this is essential if you do not want to end up with an infection. There are many other different possibilities that have become popular among people.

The general belief tends to be that the easiest, and most efficient, way to remove a skin that is by using chemical products that burn it. Others recommend tying the base of a tag with dental floss in order to stop the blood flow to this area until the skin tag falls off on its own, while others say that pain can be reduced by holding an ice cube on it before cutting it off.

These remedies are used by more and more people, who desire to get rid of their tags, without spending a lot of money. Most times, the skin tags come back, and you will need to remove them again. If you are sick of skin-tags, you should try using one of these skin tag removal at home methods to remove them, depending on your willingness to endure pain. Unfortunately, there is no certainty that these treatments will work well on you, and you may want to schedule an appointment with your doctor before applying them.
