Everybody knows that the most effective foods we can eat are whole grains, lean meats in addition to healthy fats. These are the food items that should give us the energy and protein we need. They keep the body nutritionally healthy with minimal calories while we work hard to lose our fat at the gym. Did you realize, though, that a number of the foods you are eating that are supposed to be perfectly fine by dietary standards, could be keeping you from losing weight at a good pace? They could possibly be even adding fat laden calories to your body! Here are some of the foods that you could be consuming which are hurting your efforts to lose weight.

You aren't truly aided by Sports Drinks. You have possibly been told that the sports drink is the fastest way to replenish your body's electrolyte levels after a workout. Many doctors agree, nevertheless, that if your exercise routine is less than ninety minutes, water is a fine way to do this. Sports drinks could totally challenge your diet program because they are filled to the brim with sugar, empty calories and artificial colors and flavors. Try drinking some chocolate milk instead. The suscrose in the chocolate helps your muscles start to heal and the calcium in milk keeps your bones strong.

Skip your protein shakes. Lots of folks believe that having a protein shake is a good way to curb cravings between meals. The truth of the matter is that if you are already eating a balanced diet all the protein shake really does is clog your system with protein. No matter what other people imagine, protein is not stashed in the muscles, it is stored in your body as fat. This means that if you have already taken in too much protein that day, your whole body will basically store what it doesn't need in your fat cells and that doesn't help you lose weight or inches of your waist line at all.

Pre-packaged deli meat isn't as useful to you as you may well think. It's typically believed that a sandwich constructed of whole grain bread and lean pre-packaged deli meat is a pretty good lunch time item. The truth is that pre-packaged deli meat is packed full of preservatives along with about a third of your suggested daily sodium intake. This could be particularly risky if you are at risk for heart disease. Instead of selecting deli meat, select home prepared chicken or other poultry or fresh deli meat that you can get sliced at the deli counter. Sure these are generally the more expensive options but they are tremendously healthier for you.

There are many things that we believe are better than others like choosing a whole wheat bagel each morning when the truth is that a bowl of cinnamon sprinkled oatmeal is a much healthier choice. Ask a medical expert which food items are best for you and then have those. If you are careful about precisely what you ingest and treat your body well, losing weight should not be that big of an issue for you!
