Not only is swimming fun, but it will also be able to help one survive just in case a water related calamity happens. The very core of any swimming lesson would of course be floating on the water. Floating is actually a natural instinct that humans have even when they are infants. The reason why a lot of people cannot float is because they develop a fear of water as they grow up because they would sometimes see people die from drowning.
Now the first thing that one will learn so that he can float would be how to hold his breath underwater. By learning to properly hold his breath, his fear of water will lessen because he knows how he must handle water. From there, he may move on to learning strokes so that he will know how to float and move on water.
Once he has already done this, then the very next thing to do would be to learn how to position the body. Now the proper position would be to lie down on the stomach. Once he has already taken up this position, then he is now ready to do some of the strokes that the instructor will teach.
The first stroke that he will be learning would be the freestyle. This is the most basic stroke and the easiest to learn as it would only require just a few body movements. First, he has to position his body properly with this arms above his head before he would start to learn this stroke.
Now when he has already done that, then the next thing that he will have to do would be to do a kicking movement to the water. Now in order to do this, he has to kick the water using his right foot then his left foot in small rapid movements. Now this is done so that he will be able to move himself in water.
Now once he has learned how to use his legs, then he should now learn how to use his arms. The proper arm movement in the freestyle would be swinging the two arms alternately in full circles. Now one has to swing his arms in full circles fast so that he will be able to move in further distances.
After he has already perfected the freestyle, then it will now be time for him to be taught the other moves as well. The next two moves that will be taught to him would be the dog crawl and the backstroke which will help him maneuver in the water. After learning that, he will be taught the butterfly stroke and the breaststroke.
