    Overall fitness isn't just about cardio. Although cardio is a major component of weight loss and heart health, it is important to incorporate strength training into your fitness regimen. Strength training builds muscle mass and helps you burn more calories post-workout. Follow these strength-training tips to amp up your workout and get a complete workout.

    In order to maximize your fitness potential, be sure to lightly exercise sore muscles the next day. This will allow blood to flow into the muscles at a much higher rate, therefor speeding up the healing process. Be sure to do more repetitions, but at a lighter weight or lighter strain.

    A great way to get fit is to invest in a bike. Riding a bike is a great way to get out and enjoy the outdoors. You can also burn a fair amount of calories. You can even ride your bike to take care of your errands.

    Make a playlist of songs that get you pumped up for your workout. Listening to fast, upbeat music while working out on the treadmill or elliptical will help you keep the pace needed to stay in the zone of a good aerobic workout. Find music that makes you want to get up and dance and move to keep your heart beat up and your mind focused.

This hormone can block the production of testosterone and may actually impair the body's ability to build and maintain muscle.

    You will not lose fat by only working out your abdominal muscles. Studies have shown that it takes around 250,000 crunches to burn just one pound of fat. That is the equivalent of you doing 100 crunches everyday for 7 years straight. Instead of doing all that work, have a variety of areas targeted in your workout and you will see more instantaneous results.

    If you are having a hard time fitting in a workout, set up a time to get in some exercise and stick with it. Even if you only have a few minutes to commit to it, you will feel better knowing that you stuck to your guns and got some exercise.

    Chin ups can be a great way to build upper body strength. A good way to do this exercise is to imagine yourself pulling your elbows down instead of you thinking about pulling yourself up. This will make the exercise seem easier and you will be able to do more.
