Juicing is the best way to incorporate minerals and vitamins into your diet. If you have kids it's also a great way to get them to enjoy their fruits and vegetables. You can make great tasting juice recipes that you and your kids will like. Keep reading to get great tips on juicing from home.

Store your home made juice in a nontransparent, air-tight container with no extra space for air. To prevent extra air from ruining your juice, add filtered water to the top of the container, or use a food saver to remove the extra air. Fresh juice can be stored up to 24 hours.

Buy a juicer made of high quality. This is important if you plan to use your juicer regularly. A good juicer will make as much juice as you want, be easy to maintain and clean, and last a long time. Don't try to skimp on price or you might end up buying more juicers than you want to; bad juicers just don't stand the test of time.

Keep all your juicing tools like your cutting board, knives, measuring cups, juicer, etc. together in one place so that you always know where they are. One reason you might stop juicing is because you're not keeping your tools organized, leaving you feeling overwhelmed and frustrated.

There are a million-and-one recipes of items to include in your juicing recipes. You can try a combination like apple with carrot and ginger, or celery and pear. My favorites are apple with lemon and pear, apple with cinnamon and honey, and, my daughter's favorite, banana with mango and orange. Try new ideas to find your own favorites!

When it comes to juicing, one thing that you want to keep in mind is that the type of juicer that you will want to avoid are the centrifugal juicers. Usually these are cheaper but end up either not being able to extract certain juices or not being able to retain nutrients from other ingredients.

To get more out of your juicer be open to trying fruit and vegetable combinations that you would not normally try. Start out with basic juices, such as apple, carrot or cucumber, but then get creative. Experiment with different vegetables and fruits. You can even use fresh herbs.

Juicing at home doesn't have to be costly or time consuming. You can drastically improve the way that you feel and look, and the way that your kids feel and look, by just juicing for one segment of the day. Work it into breakfast, lunch or dinner to make all the difference in your families health. Use the tips you read here to make juicing a reality.
